The solar sector remains strong with room to move higher. Oil prices are still near record highs and showing no signs of weakness.
Not surprisingly, solar stocks are higher ahead of the opening bell, continuing several days of upside momentum largely as a result of trader enthusiasm for the group in light of the sharp rise in fossil fuels. Helping today's morning turn higher is a report out of the Boston Globe that Evergreen Solar (ESLR) is doubling its plant's size in Massachusetts and adding 350 jobs.
Among issues in the group moving higher today are: SOLF, +5% ESLR, +8.4% LDK, +7% JASO, +3% FSLR, +2.3% CSUN, +5% AKNS, +7% STP, +4% YGE, +4% SPWR, +4%
Use the pre-market to get in ahead of Wall Street. Take a look at Solar Fun Power Holdings (SOLF) chart of pre-market trading. Looking strong an likely to add to early gains in the regular session.
